Description

New Jersey Institute for Disabilities is recruiting for a Supervisor of Education for its Lakeview School located in Edison, NJ. Lakeview is a premier special education school that provides year-round, highly specialized services to students between the ages of 3 and 21 who represent 50 school districts throughout New Jersey.

Lakeview School offers leading-edge innovations in special education and enhancements, such as onsite medical clinics, developmental therapies, and a state-of-the-art Aquatic Center.

The Supervisor of Education must assure classroom teachers under assigned direction, are providing the required education services as specified in each student’s Individual Educational Plan. The Supervisor will advise, update, and train staff using instructional materials and program assessment scales.

Experience in administration of education programs for handicapped students is preferred.

Job Requirements for Supervisor of Education:

  • MA degree in education.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a classroom teacher of elementary education or special education and/or a supervisor of elementary or special education programs.
  • Must have NJ DOE certification as a Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Elementary Education and NJ DOE certification as a School Supervisor or Principal.
  • May also have NJ DOE certification as a School Psychologist or Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant.
