New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation providing services to infants, children and adults with developmental and related disabilities. We are currently recruiting for an Early Childhood/Preschool Teacher of Students with Disabilities to work with students with developmental and related disabilities aged 3-21 years at our Lakeview School.

 

Job Responsibilities of an Early Childhood/Preschool Teacher of Students with Disabilities include:

  • Develop appropriate educational goals and objectives, teach strategies and methods of assisting these goals for each student in the class
  • Plan and implement individual, small and large group instructional activities and promote appropriate socialization and self-help skills.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of the teaching assistants and aides in the classroom

Job Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree
  • NJ DOE certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped
  • NJ DOE certification as Elementary School Teacher K-5


Position Details:

Location: Edison                             County: Middlesex

Hours Per Work Week: 35               Weekly Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 4pm
