New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation, providing services to infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities. NJID offers specialized facilities, programs, and support throughout New Jersey. Join our dedicated staff of more than 500 and make a difference in someone's life!

We are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Students with Disabilities to work with students with developmental and related disabilities aged 3-21 years at our Lakeview School.

 

Job Responsibilities of a Teacher of Students with Disabilities include:

  • Develop appropriate educational goals and objectives, teaching strategies, and methods of assisting these goals for each student in the class
  • Planned and implemented individual, small, and large group instructional activities and promoted appropriate socialization and self-help skills.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of the teaching assistants and aides in the classroom

Job Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree
  • ABA experience preferred
  • NJ DOE certification as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of Handicapped
  • NJ DOE certification as Elementary School Teacher K-5

Location: Edison                             County: Middlesex

Hours Per Work Week: 35               Weekly Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 4 pm
