New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation. It provides services to infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities. NJID offers specialized facilities, programs, and support throughout New Jersey. We are recruiting for Substitute Program Assistants to work with adults with developmental disabilities in a day program setting.

Job Responsibilities of a Substitute Program Assistant:

  • Assist in the implementation of individual goals and objectives
  • Support recreational and social activities
  • Provide appropriate personal care as needed
  • Assist with transportation
  • Data entry using Therap (EHR)
  • Teach appropriate skills to enhance client independence


Job Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license in good standing and must be insurable through NJID's automobile insurance.
  • Strong communication skills

Hours Per Work Week:
ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS        Weekly Work Schedule: ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS

Other shifts are available at this location.

NJID has full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities in Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Somerset Counties.

This is a non-benefited position.
