Description
The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation, providing services to infants, children, and adults with developmental and related disabilities.  NJID offers specialized facilities, programs, and support throughout New Jersey.  Join our dedicated staff of more than 500 and make a difference in someone's life!

We are recruiting for
an Individual Support Worker (ISW/DSP) to assist an individual with developmental disabilities with activities of daily living.  The client is located in Scotch Plains, NJ. Qualified candidates will identify various available services and develop support systems to meet client needs.  

Job Responsibilities of an ISW/DSP
:
 
  • Assist with activities of daily living i.e. personal care
  • Accompanies clients to doctor's appointments
  • Assists with meal preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Assists with running errands

Job Requirements:
 
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license and must be insurable under NJID's automobile insurance
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, and related disabilities
  • Strong communication skills
NO certification required  

Position Details:

Location: Scotch Plains                     County: Middlesex

Hours Per Work Week: 30                 Weekly Work Schedule: Mon.-Fri. 2:30 pm - 8:30 pm                       


Other shifts are available at this location.

NJID has full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities in Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Somerset Counties.
